A new attraction for the whole family has been created at the St. Jakob ski centre in the Defereggental valley, by the Ochsenlacke lake at the Mooseralm: five giant pieces of play equipment, or guardians of the mountain waters:
• Salmo the trout
• Anura the frog
• Odo the dragonfly
• Uro the Alpine newt
• Cinni the dipper
From the trout representing the guardian of the mountain streams to the dipper which symbolically watches over the waterfalls; the animals are not just a symbol of the treasure-trove of mountain waters, they also provide a play area for children. The Alpine newt puts balancing skills to the test on the stepping stones around it, while the dragonfly is all about sense of direction in among wooden poles designed to represent reeds. The new play area and attraction opened in the summer of 2019, and is a destination not to be missed!
