The new fire station in Buch, Tyrol, offers a modern operations centre that perfectly combines functionality, aesthetics and sustainability. With the building stretching over an area of around 1,250 m², there is enough space for a strong team, including equipment and machinery. This sustainable building will allow firefighters to carry out their work smoothly in the event of an emergency.
From team room to vehicle hall
The heart of the building is the spacious vehicle hall, which offers parking spaces for six vehicles. The ground floor houses a modern doctor's office as well as operational rooms for the fire brigade, such as a communications centre, changing rooms, a respirator workshop and another general workshop. A team room, training room, youth room and various storage rooms are located on the upper floor.
Sustainability meets functionality
The building was constructed using a hybrid construction method featuring timber frame construction with glued laminated timber, CLTPLUS solid wood panels and reinforced concrete, and showcases efficient building technology. The entire building is heated using two air-water heat pumps, and most of the heat is emitted via underfloor heating.
The new fire station in Buch, Tyrol, is not only a functional operations centre, but also a shining example of sustainable construction. Approximately 165 m³ of CLT wall and ceiling elements in visible and industrial quality and approximately 79 m³ of glued laminated timber were installed. As a special feature, the joinery boasts block screw connections with factory pre-assembly.
