Bouldering is experiencing a boom. Our joinery services centre has completed a challenging project, and at the same time dared to look up. A new bouldering wall has been built, and our joinery team took great delight in this challenging undertaking. The 1,750 individual elements for the substructure of the entire bouldering area were prefabricated with precision. We are delighted to be able to present to you this somewhat different form of joinery work.
Following the one in Rankweil, Steinblock has now built a visionary and modern second bouldering facility in Imst. Work on the Steinblock bouldering facility in Imst began in March 2017 and was completed on 1 July 2017. THEURL played a major role in the construction by providing 50 m³ of glulam for the prefabrication of the wooden construction elements. Following just three months of construction, sports enthusiasts can now access a climbing area of around 760 m², of which 119 m² is dedicated to beginners and children, 73 m² are in the bouldering grotto and 68 m² are reserved for the training area. With our Hundegger machine, 120 hours of joinery work have been done for this project. It required a machine to work day and night for five days. The design of the new bouldering facility is characterized by light and bright colours. Managing Director Guntram Jörg says it takes its lead from nature. Natural materials were used wherever possible, especially when it comes to timber, so THEURL was the supplier of choice. The bouldering walls deliberately have no parallel lines, they too reflect the shapes of nature.
